Climate Action and Sustainability: A look at how #AsiaPacific economies should start working on it

As economies are affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic, this is the right time for #AsiaPacific Nations to start reviewing their policies on development.  This pandemic has shown us how fragile our man-made structures in the face of overwhelming natural hazards.  The COVID-19 pandemic gives us a glimpse of what happens to countries when the full impacts of climate change is felt.

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), through a survey, proposes a transition of development to sustainability.  This is what ACCC has advocated with many of our members’ governments and even in regional bodies such as ASEAN as climate action also requires a transition to a sustainable development pathway that prioritizes renewable energies and prioritizes organic and local production and sourcing.  Read more of this survey and the results here: https://www.unescap.org/publications/economic-and-social-survey-asia-and-pacific-2020.#
