April 22, Manila, Philippines – The international celebration of Earth Day on April 22 marks a 50th year milestone this year. Started in 1970, Earth Day has become a global event marking the work of individuals, groups, and, communities for the environment.
Earth Day International has coordinated the different actions and celebrations across the globe.
In the Philippines, Earth Day is led by ACCC member Earth Day Network Philippines, Inc. in cooperation with the Department of Environment Natural Resources. Despite the Philippine lockdown, Earth Day in the Philippines will be celebrated virtually through an online campaign for climate action.
